Robert Peharz received his PhD from Graz University of Technology (TU Graz, Austria) in 2015. He was a postdoc at the Medical University of Graz (2015-2017), a Marie-Curie Individual Fellow at Cambridge University (UK, 2017-2019) and an Assistant Professor at Eindhoven University of Technology (The Netherlands, 2019-2021).
He is an expert in probabilistic machine learning and has published over 40 papers on causal graphical models, Gaussian processes, tractable probabilistic models, Bayesian and generative models, probabilistic deep learning, and information theoretic model compression. In his research he combines probabilistic approaches with deep learning and classical machine learning methods.
He is a member of the ELLIS society and in the steering committee of the Graz Research Center of Machine Learning.
