Early Career Research Group Leader at the University of Tübingen, Germany

Katharina Eggensperger is an Early Career Research Group Leader for “AutoML for Science” at the cluster of excellence “Machine Learning: New Perspectives for Science” at the University of Tübingen, Germany. Before, she completed her PhD at the University of Freiburg.

Her research focuses on AutoML, hyperparameter optimization, and efficient benchmarking aiming to improve and extend AutoML systems to leverage the full potential of ML for new applications. She has been a member of the team winning three AutoML competitions (2016, 2018, 2020), co-organized the AutoML workshop series at ICML in 2019, 2020 and 2021 and is a social chair for the AutoML Conference in 2022 and 2023.
